SYNOPSIS:
A man tormented by failed dreams is unwittingly given an opportunity to relocate his family to The Big Apple. His struggle between passion and family draws thin when a Rotten Apple enters their lives. Blinded by selfishness, will the foundation of which he’s built his home withstand or implode?

Barry Battle Jr. was born in Washington, D.C. He first caught the love of acting in the stage
play “It Takes a Village” as a teenager. Barry Battle has been in numerous of touring
productions such as the Off-Broadway hit stage play “Waldy Street” which he was the lead actor.
He would go on to major as a playwright with an understudy in theater at the University of
Maryland Eastern Shore and later on at Bowie State University. He worked as a writer for B.E.T.
106 & Park under the senior writer, Pat Charles. Barry Battle’s freshman film which he wrote, directed and produced was Camp Wilson starring Omar Gooding. University of Maryland Eastern Shore first premiered “Rotten Apple” during the fall production in 2015.
Barry Battle has been writing “Rotten Apple” for ten years. After numerous of readings and workshops, he makes his theatrical debut as a writer, February 2023. The production is starring Darrin Henson (from Soul Food, Stomp the Yard, The Family Business, etc.) and Claudia Jordan (from Fox Soul, Dear Frank, Couples Retreat, etc.) to name a few. He plans to tour this production with hopes of eventually making his Broadway debut.
